Generating Reports

PolarWave generates professional PDF reports for any scan. Reports include your graphs, metadata, annotations, and a summary section — ready to share with clients or archive.

Opening the report preview

From any open scan, click the Report button in the toolbar at the top of the page.

The report preview opens in a new tab showing the full layout before you download it.

Report sections

  • Scan title (editable)
  • Scan date
  • Device type
  • Location (if GPS data is available)

Graphs

The report automatically includes graphs for all available views:

SectionContent
MapSatellite map with sensor tracks (Survey only)
1D ProfileLine chart with your current filter settings applied
2D HeatmapColor grid with your current filter settings applied
3D SurfaceIsometric view of the surface plot

Annotations

All named annotations you created appear as a list with their positions and any notes you added.

Summary

A free-text section where you can enter your interpretation — object type, estimated depth, confidence level, and recommended follow-up.

Adding annotations before the report

Annotations appear in the report. To add them:

In the 1D view:

  1. Click and drag on the chart to select a range.
  2. Type a name for the annotation (e.g., "Anomaly A — possible ferrous object").
  3. Click Save.

In the 2D view:

  1. Click and drag on the heatmap to draw a bounding box.
  2. Type a name in the dialog.
  3. Click Save.

Annotations are stored with the scan and appear in all views.
